A $75 billion resources construction boom is poised to again transform the WA economy.

Hope is on the horizon for Perth’s property market heading into 2019 and beyond, with prices predicted to grow faster than most markets across Australia.

Median house prices rose by 1.6 per cent in the Western Australian capital over November up to $518,000, the Real Estate Institute of WA has found.

The South West and Great Southern housing market is outperforming Perth and the rest of the State as homebuyers look for value around Margaret River and Albany.

Southern suburbs close to the city are performing strongly, with real estate agents claiming they haven’t seen prices this high in decades. Mount Pleasant is one of the few suburbs in Perth that is in demand.

Perth home buyers remain the beneficiary of the local property market, but with signs indicating a recovery is on the horizon, the favourable conditions that currently prevail won’t last forever and buyers should act soon if they want to secure a home at current prices.
