In keeping with one of our favourite investment strategies, single family homes in family-friendly suburbs poised for capital growth, our property management team has found another great place: Victoria Park. Victoria Park is not only family-friendly, but even offers the Active Life program for families to keep everyone in shape and help promote wellbeing.
Walking in Groups
Victoria Park, in cooperation with the Heart Foundation, offers three different times for group walking: 8:30 am Tuesday at Kensington Bushland, the Mothers’ Walking Group at 9:30 am on Wednesday and 4:30 pm Wednesday at McCallum Park.
Active Family Days
The City of Victoria Park also offers Active Family Days, where the entire family is invited to engage in activities described as “a little bit of everything” together. The first set has passed but new days are going to be planned out soon. Stay tuned!
Mothers’ Healthy Lifestyle Program
The Mothers’ Healthy Lifestyle Program is designed not only to get mums in shape and healthy, but to provide an opportunity for mums with similar obstacles and interests to network with each other. The Mums’ Walking Group begins at 9:30 am every Wednesday in Burswood at the Kinky Monkey.
Bike Safety Course
Victoria Park offers a Bike Safety Course lasting four weeks. It is the AustCycle Beginner Level One program. It is conducted on a course exclusively for bicycles. A caveat: participants must bring their own bikes.
Nutrition Programs
We know this isn’t exactly active, but taking care of one’s body with proper nutrition does make it easier to stay active. Sessions are from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm in the Drama Room of the LeisureLife Centre. Sessions start with one hour of information and end with a light dinner.
Why We Like This
We like suburbs that offer activities such as Active Life for two reasons. First, it means that the government is doing what it can to make their town family-friendly. Second, it means that there is demand for such programs.
