Warwick is a charming residential suburb set within the City of Joondalup. A suburb of Perth, Western Australia, a large portion is occupied by Warwick Open Space, a native bushland area. It is under the federal division of Cowan and the state electorate of Girrawheen. As can be seen by huge areas occupied by parks and bushlands, the suburb did not see a major property boom. It was actually developed in the late 1960s. Still, plans for re-development are under way to renovate the older housing areas and rezoning many portions of the suburb to accommodate greater density housing.
Warwick covers an area of 3.1 km2 (1.2 sq mi) and enjoys a nice location just 16 km (10 mi) north, northwest of Perth CBD. It is surrounded by other suburbs: Duncraig, Carine, Greenwood, Hamersley, Balga, Girrawheen, and Marangaroo.
The Warwick Greenwood Knights Junior Football Club represents the district at Australian Rules football. Warwick is also home to Warwick Senior High School which was founded in 1981 to cater to the needs of the students living in the suburb. Younger kids are served by Hawker Park Primary School and Wanneroo Primary School. It was once served by Warwick Primary School and Warwick Junior Primary School.
Warwick features a number of recreation options for its residents and guests to enjoy. There is an abundance of sports facilities, open parklands, and shopping centers in the area. For more entertainment and shopping options, they could also just drive off to Perth CBD.
There are several bus routes serving Warwick, with many having stopovers at Warwick Station for added convenience. These include bus route numbers 344, 371, 381, 387/388, 423, 425, 427/428, and 441 to 450.
