A great neighborhood for families, spacious homes with lush lawns can be found in Alexander Heights. Its peace-loving residents enjoy many fun activities right within their fingertips. In recent years, the neighborhood has seen an influx of immigrants of English, Irish, Arabic, and African descent. The suburb was first named as Alinjarra which means “north” in the Aboriginal language. The name was changed in 1987 in honor of a former Wanneroo Road Board member, Mr S.B. Alexander, for whom the suburb’s main arterial road was also named after.
Alexander Heights occupies an area of 3.2 km2 (1.2 sq mi). The suburb is located some 14 km (9 mi) north, north east of Perth CBD. It is bordered by other suburbs: Darch, Marangaroo, Girrawheen, Koondoola, Ballajura, Landsdale, and Cullacabardee.
Catering to the needs of the new immigrants to the area, Alexander Heights also features a wide range of English courses and sports programs in schools and training centers. Also a great choice for families to live in, the suburb offers Alinjarra Primary School for kids from kindergarten to Year 6.
Alexander Heights is but a short drive to the beach for a day of fun with the whole family. There are also sports facilities within the suburb and Perth is just a short distance should they wish to go shopping or enjoy other forms of entertainment. The neighboring suburbs also offer great venues for having fun, allowing residents to have a good time throughout the year.
Several bus routes pass through Alexander Heights, providing convenience to its residents. The suburb is serviced by bus route 344 from Morley Bus Station to Warwick Station via Ballajura and Alexander Heights, 378 from Mirrabooka to Alexander Heights via Alexander Drive and Illawarra Crescent South or 379 via each Road and Knighfisher Avenue, and 886 to 887 from Perth, Wellingtion Street Bus Station.
