Yokine is lovely suburb in Perth, offering residents with a quiet place to stay where neighbors are friendly. Early development was very limited except for the expansive golf course that occupied a major portion of the area. Still, the suburb experienced housing boom after World War II, with many properties developed close to the golf course. Pretty soon, the rest of the suburb was developed so that by the late 1970s, much of Yokine was already completed.
Set in the northern portion of Perth, the suburb is close to several outdoor destinations and the beach yet also within minutes from the heart of the city. Perth CBD is just 7 km from Yokine. The suburb is quite small, only covering an area of just 4.9 km2 but is home to several developments and a shopping center.
A great choice for families, retirees, and workers to live in, Yokine also offers a wide range of amenities catering to their needs. Dog Swamp Shopping Centre is the center of commerce being the largest shopping center in the suburb.
