Kingsley is a soothing residential community nestled within the city of Joondalup. It is the perfect place to be for families with children, retirees and professionals who want to sit back and experience relaxing day-to-day life. The eastern portion of the suburb is home to beautiful Lake Goollelal, which divides the residential area from the rest of its facilities. The suburb got its name after the village of Kingsley located in Hampshire England. It was once host to a winery which was considered as one of the largest in the southern hemisphere. When the winery closed during the 1980s, Kingsley was redeveloped into a beautiful suburban community complete with schools, churches and shopping centers.
Kingsley is located around 12 miles from the central business district of Perth. It is bounded to the east by the Wanneroo Road, to the west by Mitchell Feeway, to the south by Hepburn Avenue and north by Whitfords Avenue.
Kingsley is packed with many amenities that make every day living convenient. It is home to five primary schools and four churches including Kingsley Baptist, Kingsley Church of Christ, Kingsley Presbyterian Church and the Kingsley North-Woodvale Saint Anselm of Canterbury. Residents shopping needs are catered by the Kingsley Village which comes with 30 shops, a pharmacy and a newsagent. A few steps from the shopping center are a Caltex service station and the Kingsley Tavern Restaurant.
Kingsley provides a wide selection of recreational activities on different venues. Lake Goollelal is home to several scenic walking paths and picnic areas. Residents also enjoy the Galaxy Drive-In Theatre and the Hawkes Hill Gallery. Sports is also famous, with the suburb playing host to a tennis club, the Kingsley Oval and a soccer club which is based within the Chichester Reserve.
Transperth operates in Kingsley with bus routes 445, 446 and 447. These buses travel to and from the railway stations of Whitfords and Warwick. There are also 5 bus routes that travel to the suburb’s northern boundary and one that services the residents along the east side of Lake Goolellal.
