A residential suburb, Parkwood features a variety of great house architectures of varying styles but mostly comprised of detached homes. The suburb enjoyed many different names in the past, the most recent of which was Lynwood before it was officially changed to its current name. Also suggested in the past was “Clovercrest Estate” put forth by developers in 1965. It is a great neighborhood to raise kids, with many parks scattered all over the suburb for residents to relax and have a good time.
Parkwood occupies an area of 3.6 km2 (1.4 sq mi) and surrounded by other suburbs: Riverton, Willetton, Ferndale, Canning Vale, Lynwood, Langford, and Thornlie. It is bounded by Willeri Drive to the west, Roe Highway to the south, Nicholson Road to the east, and High Road to the north and northeast.
